Welcome, we are so so happy you picked our page out of all the other 1000's. Here, you can find stories, relate to individual writers, seek understanding, build connections, reflect, learn, and grow.
Here you can share your kernels as well. Judgement free.
It is your one-stop-shop to spiritual awakening, prayer connections, relationship support (not advice because there is no one-size-fits-all protocol), travel ideas, self-help inspirations, and all things altruistic.
We welcome you to join us on this journey. It is not only ours, but yours as well. We are all in this together...this path, this life, this world, this dimension, this universe. We are glad you are here with us, and we hope you stay.

ABOUT KERNELS OF THOUGHT
Rachel Johnston and Donieal Fletcher
Kernel: ker·nel | \ ˈkər-nᵊl- : a central or essential part : GERM “You want people to walk away from the conversation with some kernel of wisdom or some kind of impact” -Harry Dean Stanton (American actor)
What we are all about: Sisters in Duet
Okay, so we are not in the performing arts, and neither one of us are professional entertainers, but we are sisters, both by spirit and by blood. We have come together to create something unique-to build a place where we (as in you too!) can share our life experiences, inspire each other, gain new perspectives, and truly honor and serve each other in light, hope, and God’s love. With positive intention and kindness of heart, we want to use the power of thought and voice, words and wisdom, to bring people together.

Meet the Reader, Writer, Teacher, Singer (in the shower!); Rachel Johnston
I am one of 6 children, the oldest actually, and definitely the best (no pun intended to my sister here)! Ever since I was young, I mean young (as in lives), I have fancied all things linguistic. For fun, I have learned classical Latin, some ancient Greek, Spanish, and I am now trying on Japanese (probably the most complex language EVER-but have you seen the letters of the alphabet? GORGEOUS!). To use that as a segue, within language we have reading and writing. I enjoy literature. For me, written language is an art form. When it is used appropriately, it can move the reader to seek deep within themselves, to the inner core of the soul, and cause drastic transformation. Written words place an imprint in the universe; during the moment that the writer is engaged in the action of writing, those feelings, thoughts, hopes, and intentions become one with the page and they reverberate, ever so carefully, to the reader. It is with genuine love and care that I share my stories, thoughts, and experiences with you.
For this second thought, before I hand it over to my ever so lovely sister bean, it is another bit about me that I have carried since I was young-again, in other lives as well. Let me ask you, what are your first thoughts when you hear the word, “teacher?” Perhaps your mind takes you down a circular path to a place where you are sitting in a classroom, at a desk, staring out the window, while a teacher scripts math facts on the board? This is commonplace for most. And, yes, I am one of those teachers actually. I love my career, my students, and my passion for learning. My Masters in Educational Psychology shows attrition to that, as does the huge hole in my pocket for education itself! Back to my point, when I reference myself to being a teacher, as this post suggests, I am pushing for something much deeper than the mind. In my 37 years, I have taught over 350 young beans; however, I have encouraged, supported, guided, and served as a medium for many others, young and old-ER, passed and present (as in, in ‘human form’). This is a part of me that I have worked to embrace, care for, and help grow. This is a part of me, that until now, I have all but accepted as one of my many gifts that I can use to serve others. Being a spiritual teacher is one that draws on my intuition, begets my chakras, to help me develop others in understanding this world, this realm, in light and positive energy.
When we walk together, in unison, as a sacred circle we are protected. We bring a force worth reckoning with and in that essence we can fight all things dark-dark thoughts, fears, intentions, anger, pain, memories…I can’t guarantee you will enjoy my singing, but I can say that you are not here by coincidence, and we are placed in each other’s paths for a reason. I believe that you will take away something from being here with us.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” -Mathew 5:13-16

Meet the Adventurer, Innovator, Empath, Director (of her own life!); Donieal Fletcher
Hello lovelies, Donieal here! I am the third of 6, and I can tell you that being the middle child was not always the easiest. I used to believe that there was something in the Akashi Records that said, “You have some things to learn!!” Which, I can say, is part true. But haven’t we all learned a little something that just, you know, changed your life! Anyway, I absolutely love my siblings, but I gotta be honest, I have a true love for adventure! I am inspired by all things worldly. One of my favorite things to do is yoga and I am dedicated to making my way to spend a month in India where the practice began over 5,000 years ago! That is one of my truest desires, and I have placed it out into the universe that I will make it there...one day soon!
In the meantime, I am super excited about all things building, creating, and concrete. Yes, concrete. I actually run my own side business, and believe it or not, but my biggest hit seller are my concrete coasters that I make. Outside of concrete, I like to build with wood and other materials. I recently thought about making my sister Rachel a beautiful shelving unit that she can house in under her kitchen island in her new home they are having built! Ooops...hope I didn’t say too much! That being said, I have a knack for that kind of stuff...this girl don’t mind gettin a little dirty! I have also used my innovative side to create my own business from the ground up! It is all about helping people get started with their own ideas! Although this is not a place for me to brag or beg, lol, it is something that you can reach out to me if you would like to or visit my website upouralleymarketing.com.
This last bit about me, like my sister was saying about her own spirituality, is not one that has come as easily as my excitement for adventure or my desire to build things. You see, I am not as confident as many may think, and I have always worried about the impression that I would leave on people or be wrong. Because of my fear of not being perfect (who is, right!), I have actually dulled the footprint I could be making. Knowing that now, like any wise spiritual teacher may tell you (Rach!), once you announce your readiness, things come into full swing. I have worked to develop my understanding of balance and karmic energies. I am currently studying crystals and stones and how they can be used to benefit our bodies, minds, spirits, psyches, even relationships. Although this is an avenue I am growing in, I invite you to grow with me! An adventure is not a true adventure unless you have the greatest of people to do it with! I can’t wait to chat with you, see you in one of our live streams, or perhaps find you sharing your own stories on our pages! God is so so good.
