Hey guys!
Welcome to the 7 day throat chakra study! I am so glad that you are here! This is the fifth week of the 7 week chakra study. In the next 7 days we are going to take a look at our communication style, how we interact with others, and what I need to do to establish my voice and my truths! *Just a quick side note in case you are new to this, we are partaking in a Chakra study/cleansing get-to-know-yourself 7 week full body scan that includes 1 week of focus on each of the chakras, which is a system of energy that originates from India dating back to as far as 2000 BCE (a long, long, long time ago!). By learning more about this system, how it works in your body, and how you can connect to the different parts, you will begin to establish a deeper connection with your mind, your body, and your spirit. We are one with the universe my friends. *If you are new to chakra study and you would like to know more about them, you can preview our article Sacred Chakra Check-In and Show Up Let’s Review! We began by working with our roots, the lowest of our energy system and the closest to the ground. Our foundations. In the second week, we dug deep within our emotional selves and we identified not only emotional blockages we carry, but also how we respond to those of others. We discussed how over-active chakras can be just as menacing to our spirituality as under-active. During our third week we looked at how we perceive ourselves, recognize our need to have confidence and unity within ourselves, and became more aware of what we want in our lives. During our heart chakra, we examined our habits of forgiveness, empathy, self-discovery, and compassion. We are working up the chakra systems and now are ready to confront our patterns of communication and conviction, both within ourselves and among others. It is time to get up front and persona (as if you haven’t already)l! The throat chakra lies in the center of our neck just where our throat is. It includes the neck, jaw, tongue, throat, mouth, vocal cords, and the Thyroid gland. The throat is also known as the sound chakra, hence vocal cords!! It is also known as the Vishudda for “purity.” When the throat is balanced, you feel a sense of empowerment because you feel heard, your communication skills are strengthened, and it seems you always know just what to say and how to say it. Since you are an effective communicator, you also are expressive and are able to manifest things into reality. In a sense, you are also a creator! This communication skill doesn’t only apply to how you interact with others, it also applies to how you interact with yourself-meaning your higher self: the ethereal realm of spiritual and divine beings included!! But when vishuddha is imbalanced, things are difficult. At the physical level, there may be stiff neck, sore throat, Thyroid problems, or mouth problems. On an emotional level, we are not feeling heard. We feel stifled, shut down, quieted by others. We fear how we express ourselves, and we may over-express ourselves in hopes of being heard. We are introverted, feel the need to lie, insecure or gossipy, or feel the need to be loud or aggressive. Spiritually, we are closed off to the ethereal realm. There is a strong disconnect between our grounding chakras and our higher level chakras. As far as spirituality goes, this is it guys. This is the bottleneck of the entire system. Here we align our human self to our higher self. Here we find our purpose. So, let’s get on with it then!! If this is you (or if this is not, and you are just here to explore), you have come to the right place. By spending a full week, 7 days, with this energy wheel, you can get to know yourself and your connection to the throat more deeply. You can work to fine tune your communication skills, connect to the other side, and face your own truths within. That being said, on this journey I have given you a set of daily experiences that you can commit to trying. These experiences may include the use of color work, music, crystals, journal reflections, or positive affirmations. Do one, do all...but in so doing any of them, keep your feelers on and have fun! I am so glad you are here to embark on this journey with me!! Let’s Begin! Some things that may be helpful to use over the course of this week: Blue clothing Blank mandalas adult (or children’s) coloring pages and shades of green crayons, markers, pencils Journal for reflecting *I suggest you play throat chakra music of your choice while writing and coloring-click the links for suggestions in the daily guide. Blue candles Meditation mat *Suggested meditation music: throat focus; guided meditation; sleep music; healing chants; song bowl Possible crystals to help open the root: blue stones, amazonite, lapis lazuli, agate, turquoise Possible incense: frankincense, ether, lavender, jasmine, chamomile, juniper Happy Communicating! Another side note, as you work to open and balance your heart chakra you may notice small changes. You may notice an increase in anxiety-this is normal, breathe affirmations into it. You may also experience heart pain, breathing issues, or we may find that we are overly critical of ourselves and of others-forgive and move forward. This is also normal. I have empathy for others. I choose peace. Blessings! You Might Also Like
