You are super excited about trying on tarot reading. You have always wanted to learn more about it and now you are at a place where you are ready. But you are not sure where to start. Ladies and gentlemen, this is normal. There are sooo many decks out there and sooo many people that can push you in different directions. While I would say that if you were given your first deck (a tradition that some still believe to this day is necessary when we begin tarot) it is easier because it was chosen for you, there are benefits to you finding one that you like on your own. Here are a simple few strategies that you can follow as you go out and about in search of your very first deck.
Finding a popular deck may be your best bet when it comes to first time learners. Rider Waite tarot is probably the most common and there is a lot of literature around card interpretations. Since this is your first stab at tarot, it is always good to have a multitude of resources. With this deck, this is surely the case. Although this wasn’t my first, I actually bought a deck just to say that I have used it before! My second suggestion is to see if you can find decks that you feel drawn to or that interests you. My first deck was a set of angel cards. Although one reason I chose these was because of my love for angels and my Christian background, the other reason I chose them was to get to know the angels better. I felt like they were right for me. There are so many out there. Some may prefer fairies over angels, while others may prefer animal imagery. It’s all in what you are most interested in and what calls to you. Other than purchasing a common tarot or one that you are drawn to, another strategy you can use in finding the first perfect deck is to explore the little guidebooks that come with most decks. If you are looking for precise information, you may want to choose one that has elaborate explanations of what the cards mean or you may even choose a deck with the meaning of the card right on it such as Tell Me Tarot. I would like you to think about what you are hoping to gain from reading tarot. Since every deck is different, each one pulls on a different vibration. Are you seeking peace and tranquility in your life? Are you seeking to connect with your guides or angels? Are you an earth druid and you want to build your connection with earth and nature? The last piece I want to suggest is that as you are seeking and reading about your new deck opportunities, it is important to also consider the quality of the deck you are looking at. Some are not made as well as others, and though the artwork may be breathtaking, if the cards can’t sustain a good fold then they may not be best for the long run. Quality does matter. Happy tarot hunting my friends and welcome to this fun and enchanting world! Please, share your favorite deck below so that others may benefit from you!! -Blessings!

Hey guys!
Welcome to the 7 day solar plexus chakra study! I am so glad that you are here! This is the third week of the 7 week chakra study. In the next 7 days we are going to take a look at self; self-love, self-esteem; self-respect; self-growth. WE are going to get closer to OUR SELF! *Just a quick side note in case you are new to this, we will be partaking in a Chakra study/cleansing get-to-know-yourself 7 week full body scan that includes 1 week of focus on each of the chakras, which is a system of energy that originates from India dating back to as far as 2000 BCE (a long, long, long time ago!). By learning more about this system, how it works in your body, and how you can connect to the different parts, you will begin to establish a deeper connection with your mind, your body, and your spirit. We are one with the universe my friends. *If you are new to chakra study and you would like to know more about them, you can preview our article Sacred Chakra Check-In and Show Up Let’s Review! We began by working with our roots, the lowest of our energy system and the closest to the ground. Our foundations. In the second week, we dug deep within our emotional selves and we identified not only emotional blockages we carry, but also how we respond to those of others. We discussed how over-active chakras can be just as menacing to our spirituality as under-active. Our next step in our journey is going to take us deeper than we have before. It is going to require us to look at how we view ourselves and how we allow others to view us. We are going to learn that our own perception of who we are provides a doorway to the type of people we invite into our lives, whether they are for our benefit or not. This is one of my favorites to work with and support people around as it is our bridge to our higher self connection, spiritual development, and ...our life purpose. The solar plexus chakra is just above the naval. It begins below the diaphragm, or breastplate, and moves down to the top of the belly button. It includes the stomach, pancreas, liver, upper digestive, and adrenal glands. It is from here where we are most conscious of who we are, our ego, our identity, our independence, and our internal power of transformation. The solar plexus chakra is associated with fire. It is also known as the Manipura for “shining jewel.” When your plexus is balanced, you are a warm and spiritual energy that draws people in to admire your confidence, your intellect, and your positive vibrations. You have a positive sense of self esteem and self power. You find that are in balanced, healthy, and valuable relationships. Not only are you motivated to move forward and find purpose in life, you have the inner strength and personal belief to complete those motivations. When your solar plexus is imbalanced, quite the opposite occurs unfortunately. At the physical level, we may feel tired all the time, have digestive problems, diabetes, fibromyalgia, or we may present ourselves as selfish or arrogant. On an emotional level, we are suffering with low self-esteem, we are in struggle with internal conflict, we are indecisive and have self-doubt, we are drawing in people that are constantly taking advantage of us, we are feeling used, and we are fearful. We carry our life experiences with us as ‘victims’ and we are resentful. Spiritually, guys, we just aren’t ready or willing to take in any lessons that are waiting for us. In almost all aspects of life, we are just not ready to face the music. So, if this is you (or if this is not, and you are just here to explore), you have come to the right place. By spending a full week, 7 days, with this energy wheel, you can get to know yourself and your connection to the sacral more deeply. You can work to open your energy, build skills to help you remain centered, and you can move on to the next level feeling prepared. That being said, on this journey I have given you a set of daily experiences that you can commit to trying. These experiences may include the use of color work, music, crystals, journal reflections, or positive affirmations. Do one, do all...but in so doing any of them, keep your feelers on and have fun! I am so glad you are here to embark on this journey with me!! Let’s Begin! Some things that may be helpful to use over the course of this week: Yellow clothing (honestly one of my personal FAVORITE COLORS EVER) Blank mandalas adult (or children’s) coloring pages and shades of yellow crayons, markers, pencils Journal for reflecting *I suggest you play solar plexus music of your choice while writing and coloring-click the links for suggestions in the daily guide. Yellow candles Meditation mat *Suggested meditation music: plexus focus; guided meditation; sleep music; healing chants; song bowl Possible crystals to help open the root: Amber, Golden Calcite, yellow quartz and jasper, pyrite, mookaite Possible incense: rosemary, chamomile, bergamot, lavender, ginger, fennel Happy Rooting! Another side note, as you work to open and balance your sacral chakra you may notice small changes. You may find changes in eating habits, you may feel butterflies in your stomach, you may get overly anxious for a brief moment. You will notice that your digestion is easing and your metabolism is working better. Affirm yourself: I am confident. I make my own choices. I am free to love myself. I choose peace. Blessings!
